Achlorhydria
Lack of hydrochloric acid in gastric juice.
A condition in which the stomach does not produce hydrochloric acid in its secretions. Impairs protein digestion and absorption of minerals such as iron, calcium, and vitamin B12 that depend on an acidic gastric environment.
