What the research says
Powerful bone marrow poison; causes aplastic anemia and leukemia. Forms in beverages containing benzoate salts and vitamin C or erythorbic acid in presence of certain minerals. Heat or light can increase benzene formation. Consumer Product Safety Commission banned in household products 1978.
