Liver-made, gallbladder-stored fluid that emulsifies fat and forms micelles for fat absorption.
Aqueous secretion containing bile acids, phospholipids, cholesterol, bilirubin, and electrolytes. Synthesized by hepatocytes, stored and concentrated in the gallbladder, and released into the duodenum where it emulsifies dietary lipids and supports micelle formation.
