Cola, fruit, spice, cinnamon, vanilla flavorings for beverages, ice cream, candy (700 ppm), chewing gum (4,900 ppm), condiments, meats; perfume, mouthwash, toothpaste

What the research says

Irritating to skin and mucous membranes especially undiluted. Can cause inflammation and erosion of gastrointestinal tract. One of the most common allergens. Cross-reacts with balsam Peru and benzoin. May cause depigmentation and hives.

Benefits

University of Illinois reported chewing gum with it reduced bacteria in mouth and bad breath.
