Disaccharides
Sugars formed by combining two monosaccharides through a glycosidic bond.
Two-sugar carbohydrates linked by glycosidic bonds. Sucrose (glucose-fructose), lactose (glucose-galactose), and maltose (glucose-glucose) are the primary dietary disaccharides; intestinal disaccharidases hydrolyze them at the brush border.
