Endocytosis
Uptake of a substance into a cell via vesicles derived from the plasma membrane.
Process by which cells internalize extracellular material by inward folding of the plasma membrane into vesicles. Includes phagocytosis, pinocytosis, and receptor-mediated endocytosis (e.g., LDL uptake).
