Glycolysis
Pathway by which glucose is converted to pyruvate.
Cytosolic, 10-step pathway converting one glucose to two pyruvate molecules, generating net 2 ATP and 2 NADH. Anaerobically, pyruvate is reduced to lactate; aerobically, pyruvate enters mitochondria for further oxidation.
