The full MNA has 18 items; the short form (MNA-SF) has 6 items covering appetite, weight loss, mobility, recent stress or illness, neuropsychological problems, and BMI or calf circumference. A score of <=11 on the MNA-SF indicates risk of malnutrition and triggers full assessment. Endorsed for use in long-term care and geriatric clinics.
