Nucleotides

Phosphate esters of purine or pyrimidine bases linked to ribose or deoxyribose.

Building blocks of nucleic acids and key cellular currencies (ATP, GTP, NAD+, FAD, coenzyme A). Comprise a nitrogenous base, sugar, and one or more phosphates.
