Oncosis
Pre-lethal pathway with cellular and organelle swelling and increased membrane permeability leading to cell death.
Distinct from apoptosis, oncosis is a cell death pathway driven by membrane and ATP failure, with characteristic swelling, organelle disruption, and inflammation.
