Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Common endocrine disorder of reproductive-age women characterized by hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction, and polycystic ovaries.

Rotterdam criteria require two of three features. Strongly linked to insulin resistance, T2DM, metabolic syndrome, NAFLD, and cardiovascular risk. MNT: ~5 to 10% weight loss in those with overweight, Mediterranean or low-glycemic dietary pattern, regular physical activity. Pharmacotherapy includes metformin, combined oral contraceptives, and ovulation induction agents when fertility is desired.
